She’s already being compared to dominatrix icon Angelina Jolie, but Columbiana star Zoe Saldana doesn’t especially encourage the comparisons.

She’s flattered, she says, but is out to cut her own image as female assassin in her new film, which features multiple kills of the male schmoes that killed her parents, and more than one hot seduction scene to please fans of the femme fatale fetish.

“Revenge is beautiful,” as the movie’s poster proclaims, in an obvious homage to Jolie’s Wanted. (See image nearby.)

Furthermore, both Zaldana and the film’s producer seem to “get” the appeal of deadly females in the age of the Disposable Male.

They’re shooting for what Style.com aptly calls deadly chic — an increasingly popular trend on both film and the runway — and Saldana deftly achieves it.

As Colombiana’s costume designer Olivier Bériot put it, the wardrobe in these movies is “a little bit unreal, but that’s as much for the men in the audience (’she’s sexy!’ [they're thinking]) as it is for the women (’she’s powerful’).”

To paraphrase Poison Ivy: We gave you life, and we can take it away. In Columbiana, Zoe Saldana shows just how sexy the process can be.

5. Helen Mirren. Sparkling and hard-edged sexy in her new release, The Debt. She can’t believe she bested Jennifer Lopez in a hotness contest… but we can.

6. Michele Bachmann. We can’t stop watching her 2009 appearance as a sycophantic loofah-slave Bill O’Reilly grovels at Bachman’s feet (in a fair and balanced way, of course).

7. Angelina Jolie dominatrix. A fortnight without a new humiliation of Brad Pitt is a fortnight without sunshine… or a top 5 spot at Celebrity Femdom.

8. Kate Moss dominatrix. Lavish wedding outdoes Kim Kardashian for a-list celebrities and taste alike. See her on the September Vogue cover and druel.

9. Rihanna. Distinguished herself by not embarrassing herself at MTV’s incredibly weak Video Music Awards (a.k.a., the Video Milquetoast Awards). It’s more than Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, or Beyonce can say.

10. Britney Spears. Passable at the VMAs… the MTV Britney-Spears-worship video tribute salvaged something for the show, and that’s, well, something.
