Jennifer Garner dominatrix: Arthur redux

Jennifer Garner has had more than one shot at femdom roles…
from her femme fatale portrayal in the series Alias to the big screen’s man-eater Elektra. (See career collage nearby).
Now she’s re-donned her dominatrix garb in the remake of Arthur — where she plays the family-arranged fiancee Arthur doesn’t want to marry —
Garner’s Arthur femdom is tongue-in-cheek and a bit clutzy… somewhere in between the hot, but somewhat stiff, role of Electra, and the cold-dead sexy dominatrix fatale of Alias.
Of course, we’re also looking forward to another does of Helen Mirren, following on her triumphal female assassin portrayal in Red.
Mirren (photo nearby) is delightfully cast as Hobson, this time a nanny, in a twist on the old John Gielgud role.
As the, Mirren doesn’t get to vamp explicitly. But, oh, that woman has the Lauren Bacall Schtick down cold, and is, as it were, femdom in any role.
“She puts the sex in sexegenarian,” as one critic raved, and can do it as well in a business suit as a lead breastplate and whip.
Who knows? She may just steal the femdom show Garner — we’ve seen only the previews — much as she bested even Megan Fox in a sexy-celebrity poll in 2010.
