All this week we’ll be celebrating the evolution of Britney Spears dominatrix —

with brief comments, and, yes, not-so-small images and gallery links.

(After all, we both predicted and encouraged this, just as others were running her down, on DieForHer.com’s 2008 cri de couer, “Stand On Your Man.” Britney’s publicists gladly published our links to this piece, which remain on her official site today as a fitting nod to her loyal fans… and the rest is history.)

Our correspondent Idolator commented in a response to “Britney Spears Femme Fatale” that one was her passionate lesbian kiss with Madonna, an electric moment from the 2003 MTV Awards.

And so, we start off our pictorial tribute to Britney Spears dominatrix with a tribute to The Kiss… a kiss that rocked the music world, Britney fans, and implanted in the male mind a riveting image of the male’s superfluity.

We’re going back in herstory and, occasionally, posting important items from the history of femocracy in the popular culture.

Few actresses had more impact on society — mostly for the good — than Mary Tyler Moore as her 1970s role as Mary Richards.

Her photo set as dominatrix (top inset image) is a little strained, but the fact that she is Mary Tyler Moore — one time incarnation of female “perkiness” in a fading man-ruled era — makes it all the more important.

Adrianne Palicki (Legion, Friday Night Lights) has hardly put out her first photo teaser — she plays Wonder Woman in the forthcoming television series — and already is attracting jeers and tomatoes from the fashionazis.

“It’s cheap,” nags Filmschoolrejects.com, describing the Wonder Woman costume modeled by Palicki last week. “I mean really cheap.”

Somewhat more upbeat, Jennifer Cox of the National Ledger writes: “Wow.” Cox seems to be talking less about the threads, though than about Palicki.

“She looks great,” Cox continues. Agreed there.

For once, we think the critics may be right. In its publicity version, anyway, it looks a tad like badly died aluminum foil, or a Halloween costume for Miley Cyrus’s sister.

Then again, Palicki can make anything make good, as she showed in Friday Night Lights , and reportedly does have a dominant personality on the set.

Of course, the Fox News headline excerpted above is talking about the pop music scene.

But that’s okay. Britney’s commercial revival, as all can see, is founded in large part on her adopting a dominatrix posture and attitude and lifestyle. When her new album, Femme Fatale, hits #1, the torch from dominatrix Madonna to dominatrix Britney Spears will have been passed.

And if there’s major network that understands the power of dominant images, it’s Fox… the network that put Family Guy’s Lois Griffin in a dominatrix outfit for a prime-time cartoon watched by millions.

Kardashian’s every appearance brings worshippers, both male and female, as a recent New York Post item reported on a mere visit to a shoe store — in “Kardashian Mania.”

She is femdom, she feels it, and she is flexing it. Turning up the heat indeed.
